Sustainability

6 ways I’m tackling sustainability within my business…

  • selection of coloured pencils on top of a colour palette

    Shopping small

When possible, I buy my supplies from small businesses or busineses that make sustainability pledges.

  • up close of a realistic painting of a lion

    Cruelty-free supplies

Where possible I make a conscious effort to use cruelty-free supplies such as synthetic paintbrushes (instead of natural hair).

  • artist holds colour palette next to a realistic portrait drawing of a grey cat

    Reducing waste

I reuse paper offcuts to create colour palettes that I include with my pet portraits. I also use a stay-wet paint palette to reduce paint waste.

  • realistic portrait drawing of a brown and white cat with a gold coloured mount

    Archival materials

I use a technique called conservation mounting, whereby all the materials involved are acid-free/archival.

  • fine art print of a labrador placed next to an original drawing of the same cream labrador

    Sustainable surfaces

My giclee prints are printed on eco-friendly bamboo paper.

  • paper packing tape with a polar bear design on

    Reusing packaging

I reuse packaging to reduce waste and make sure other materials are recycable/ made from recycled materials.
