I am currently in my 4th and final year of studying BA Art and Psychology at the University of Reading. My passion for music and film further my desire to work creatively, with the ambition of exploring a career as a freelance artist. Inspired by psychological theories, my artwork seeks to inspire a conversation between science, art and what it means to be human. Through my mixed-media approach I manipulate the sensory qualities of materials, with a focus on properties such as texture, transparency, weight and size. I experiment with the idea of consciousness and experience, heightened by lighting and staging to create an immersive environment. My use of a broad range of media, including traditional and newer media, helps to further my enquiry about our relationship to the body. With the contemporary consideration of how the notion of identity is influenced by the perception of mental health in the 21st Century and the digital world.
